4-Hour Supported Scaffold User & Refresher

Course Description:
The 4-hour Scaffold User course is required for all workers using supported scaffolds on construction sites in New York City, as per Local Law 52. This course explains the basic elements of supported scaffold safety and-introduces students to the nature of supported scaffold hazards. Topics include: scaffold inspections, recognizing different hazards (e.g. falling, electrical, etc.) , and protective equipment. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a picture ID card, valid for 4 years.
16-Hour Suspended Scaffold User

Course Description:
This course is required by the New York City Department of Buildings to use ·or work on suspended scaffolds in New York City. Training will include instruction on how to visually inspect suspended scaffold equipment, identify basic scaffold components, and execute safe assembly and disassembly of the equipment. Students are required to participate in all class exercises, which shall include use of various types of suspended scaffolding and rigging operations.
32-Hour Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover

Instructors will demonstrate safe methods of installation, removal and modification of different types of supported scaffolds using OSHA regulations, DOB standards and good work practice as a guide. Some topics covered during the course will include major scaffold components, importance of proper erection pre-planning, worker training, and how to read scaffold design drawings. Students participate in hands-on assessment exercises in building and dismantling supported scaffolds, applying various rope knots and demonstrating proper ability to apply basic rigging techniques
