    OSHA Asbestos Awareness Training

    Course Description

The resistance and durability that make asbestos a popular option for products, such as insulation for pipes, floor tiles, building materials, and in vehicle brakes and clutches also contribute to its hazardous nature if not handled properly. Asbestos exposure can have immediate health effects and is well recognized as a health hazard as its use is now highly regulated by both OSHA and EPA.

OSHA Asbestos Awareness training is essential for workplaces handling or potentially encountering asbestos-containing materials. These regulations emphasize the necessity of comprehensive training programs that inform employees about asbestos risks, proper handling, and safety protocols. OSHA mandates employers to provide this training to workers at risk of exposure as a crucial measure to prevent asbestos-related illnesses. Compliance with OSHA's stringent guidelines regarding asbestos awareness ensures legal adherence and, more importantly, creates a safer work environment by empowering individuals with the knowledge to identify, manage, and minimize the risks associated with asbestos exposure.

    OSHA Lead Awareness Training

    Course Description

Lead exposure is most common to people working in construction and the manufacturing industry during the processing of lead products or materials. Without proper safety measures, these employees end up breathing in lead-containing dust and fumes. When lead passes through the lungs and into the bloodstream, it can cause damage to a person’s organs. According to OSHA and the CDC, prolonged lead exposure can cause neurological and gastrointestinal effects, anemia, and even kidney disease.

OSHA's Lead Awareness requirements serve as a vital framework for safeguarding workers against the perils of lead exposure in diverse workplace settings. These regulations establish permissible exposure limits (PELs) and action levels, providing clear guidelines for monitoring, assessing, and controlling lead hazards. Employers are mandated to offer comprehensive training programs, ensuring employees comprehend the health risks associated with lead exposure, recognize sources of lead, and adopt effective mitigation strategies. Compliance with OSHA's stringent standards involves implementing engineering controls, providing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and conducting regular medical surveillance to monitor workers' health.

    4-Hour Crystalline Silica Hazard Awareness

    Course Description

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has created a new crystalline silica OSHA standard which demands that employers take more steps to protect their workers’ health in the field. Among the other requirements listed below, workers must receive proper silica hazard awareness training.

All employers complying with OSHA crystalline silica standard must implement a written exposure control plan that identifies the tasks that involve exposure and the methods used to protect workers.

Companies must designate a competent person to implement the written exposure control plan and restrict cleaning practices that expose workers to silica when viable alternatives exist. Train workers on work operations that result in silica exposure and ways to limit exposure.

Upon completion of the 4-Hour Crystalline Silica Hazard Awareness training course students will receive a certificate from 24/7 Safety Training LLC.

    Learning Outcomes

    1. Understand what respirable crystalline silica is
    2. Understand respirable crystalline silica’s effects on the body
    3. Identify methods of preventing exposure to crystalline silica
    4. Apply proper use and maintenance of respiratory equipment
    5. Describe the key points of OSHA respirable crystalline silica rule

    HAZCOM Training

    Course Description

OSHA's Hazard Communication (HAZCOM) standard focuses on keeping employees safe from harmful chemicals.  Year after year, HAZCOM appears on OSHA's Top 10 list of their most frequently cited standards, and lack of training is often the reason. OSHA adopted a Globalized Harmonization Standard (GHS) that requires all employers with hazardous chemicals in their workplaces to have labels and safety data sheets for their exposed workers and train them to handle the chemicals appropriately.

Upon completion of the  HAZCOM  training course students will receive a certificate from 24/7 Safety Training LLC

    OSHA's Hazard Communication Standard Requirements

Most of us use chemicals every day to do our jobs, but they can be hazardous, and the risk of injury or incidents involved with the use of chemicals can be increased if you aren't aware of what the hazards are. Knowing and understanding elements of the hazard communication standard are critical to keeping you safe when dealing with chemicals in the workplace/jobsites and as an employee, you have the right to know about the chemicals in your specific workplace/jobsites.

The best way to obtain information on chemicals is by understanding the information on labels and referring to that product's Safety Data Sheet which will be covered in more detail throughout this course.

    HAZCOM Training Topics

    • Written Program Requirements
    • Handling chemicals
    • Employee duties
    • GHS and pictograms
    • Flammable Liquids and NFPA/HMIS labels

    • Understand the purpose and significance of OSHA Hazard Communication Standard.
    • Identify key terms and definitions related to hazard communication.
    • Recognize the responsibilities of employers and employees under the HCS.
    • Explain the importance of chemical identification.
    • Interpret hazard communication label elements.
    • Comprehend the purpose and content of SDS.

    4-Hours Forklift Safety Training

    Course Description

A powered industrial truck (PIT) is an important piece of equipment that is used to transfer material, products, machinery, etc., through the facility.

Forklifts are one of the most common powered industrial trucks and are great assets to have when used properly. However, when operated incorrectly, they can cause tremendous damage to equipment, the property, and even your employees!

Upon completion of the 4-hours Forklift Safety training course students will receive a certificate from 24/7 Safety Training LLC

    What does OSHA require?

The Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) requires employers to provide employees who drive powered industrial trucks to prevent accidents and injuries while operating the vehicles. OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178(I) requires that employees need to go through training on vehicle operation, inspections and maintenance. All drivers must be over 18 years of age.

This class is designed to provide safety training for Powered Industrial Trucks Operators. It is NOT basic vocational training, and operators are expected to know how to at least operate the equipment. A classroom style presentation will be conducted by our Safety Consultant before the hands-on exercises. This includes operating hazards, stability triangles, combined actions, pre-operation inspection, nameplates, operating a lift truck, tipping, loading/unloading, traveling, ramps and railroad tracks, docks, parking, unattended fork trucks, and propane refueling.

Prior to our training, employers must ensure that the prospective operators have reviewed all pertinent information found in the specific operators’ manual, instructions on the equipment controls and have been provided supervised practice on the forklift. A collaborative effort needs to be made to make sure your team knows how to operate the equipment safely.

After this training, your team should know how to work around the equipment safely, be responsible for the equipment itself, and understand what habits operators need to develop and maintain for safe operation to occur.

After completion of this course, participants who pass the course will receive Powered Industrial Truck Certification Cards, which are valid for 3 years.

    Learning Outcomes

    1. Understand forklift accident statistics in construction.
    2. Understand the responsibilities of competent person.
    3. Describe the types of hazards.
    4. Describe the components, specifications, and regulatory requirements of forklift operation.
    5. Understand basic principles such as forklift operation.
    6. Describe the parts of a truck/pre-shift inspection.

    Prerequisites

    • There are no prerequisites to take this OSHA training course. Students need to be able to verbally communicate with instructors in primary language of the training.

    • Students are required to complete 100% of the course and actively participate in all learning activities.

    CEU Requirements
