Under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, employers are responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for their employees.
The OSHA 30-hour General Industry Training program provides basic safety and health information and education for workers and employers on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in workplaces in the general industry. The training also provides information regarding workers' rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint. Students will receive free study guides and handbooks to aid their learning.
The 30-hour class is more appropriate for supervisors or workers with some safety responsibility. Through this training the students locate and understand OSHA standards in 29 CFR, identify accident and fatality causes in hazardous worksite areas, suggest abatement techniques, and gain knowledge about construction processes, materials, and equipment
