    10-HOUR OSHA GENERAL INDUSTRY

    Course Description

    Under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, employers are responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for their employees. This program is not required by OSHA, however, it may be required in a state or local jurisdiction, or as part of a contractual agreement to perform the work.


    The 10-Hour OSHA General Industry Training Course aims to raise worker awareness about workplace hazards and promote workplace safety and health.


    This course is based on the requirements of OSHA Code of Federal Regulations for General Industry (29 CFR 1910) and covers OSHA-mandated topics such as OSHA inspection procedures, record keeping, fire detection/prevention, welding, cutting, electricity, lockout/tagout, personal protective equipment, ergonomics, hand and hand tools, industrial hygiene/bloodborne pathogens, walking-working surfaces, means of egress and fire protection, cranes, electricity, hazard communication, and material handling.

      

    Upon completion of the 10 Hour OSHA training course students will receive a certificate from 24/7 Safety Training LLC and within 15 days participants will receive an OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Safety & Health Program wallet card from the OSHA issued by Training Institute (OTI) educational centers.

    Learning Objectives

    Upon completion of this OSHA training course, the student will be able to:

    • Recognize worker rights and employer responsibilities under OSHA.
    • Identify ways to select appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and lifesaving equipment.
    • Identify safety procedures needed to protect workers from hazards during material hoisting.
    • Analyze at least 5 chemical and physical properties of chemicals found in workplace.
    • Identify safety procedures needed to protect workers from hazards during material hoisting.
    • Demonstrate how to inspect an ABC type fire extinguisher

    Prerequisites

    • There are no prerequisites to take this 10-hour OSHA training course. Students need to be able to verbally communicate with instructors in primary language of the training.


    • Students are required to complete 100% of the course and actively participate in all learning activities.

    CEU Requirements

    1.  100% attendance for the OSHA 10 Certification
    2. Completion of Continuing Education and Training Registration Form
    3. Active participation in all class exercises (determined by course instructor)
    4. Completion of required pre-and post-quiz assessment
    5. As applicable, achievement of minimum passing score on required end-of-course examination
    6. Participation and submittal of end-of-course evaluation form (must provide name on form to receive credit)
