    10-HOUR OSHA CONSTRUCTION

    Course Description

    Under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, employers are responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for their employees.

     

    The OSHA 10 Hour Construction Training Course provides training for workers and employers on the recognition, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in the workplace. This Outreach program emphasizes workplace safety and health, the role of the construction workers in hazard recognition and avoidance information regarding workers’ rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint. This course is designed to promote safety and health in the workplace and make workers aware of potential hazards on jobsites. 


    Local law 196 of 2017, DOB NYC introduced new regulations for demolition and construction workers employed in the 5 boroughs that will require them to have a specific amount of training. Workers will be required to have a minimum of 30 hours of training and supervisors will be required to have a minimum of 62 hours of training by December 1st, 2018. In addition to the required amount of training individuals will also need to acquire the appropriate Site Safety Training (SST) card to prove they have completed the necessary training.


    Upon completion of this course, you will receive an OSHA-10 hour Construction Safety and Health wallet card.

    Learning Objectives

    Upon completion of this OSHA training course, the student will be able to:

    • Recognize worker rights and employer responsibilities under OSHA
    • Identify how to select the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and life-saving equipment.
    • Define methods of controlling four main health hazards that construction workers may be exposed to.
    • Identify major focus four hazards and describe ways to prevent worker’s exposure
    • Define different control methods for controlling the four main hazards that      construction workers may be exposed to.

    Prerequisites

    There are no prerequisites to take this 10-hour OSHA training course. Students need to be able to verbally communicate with instructors in primary language of the training.


    Students are required to complete 100% of the course and actively participate in all learning activities.


    Upon completion of the 10 Hour OSHA training course students will receive a certificate from 24/7 Safety Training and within 15 days participants will receive an OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety & Health Program wallet card from the OSHA issued by Training Institute (OTI) educational centers.

    CEU Requirements

    1. 100% attendance for the OSHA 10 Certification
    2. Completion of Continuing Education and Training Registration Form
    3. Active participation in all class exercises (determined by course instructor)
    4. Completion of required pre-and post-quiz assessment
    5. As applicable, achievement of minimum passing score on required end-of-course examination
    6. Participation and submittal of end-of-course evaluation form (must provide name on form to receive credit)
