Local Law 52 of 2005 this course is required for workers installing, removing or modifying supported scaffolds over 40 feet on Construction Sites in New York City.
32-Hour Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover Course is a comprehensive training program designed for construction professionals responsible for installing and removing supported scaffolds. Instructors will inform participants of current OSHA policies, and Department of Buildings Standards. The Scaffold Installer/Remover Course will also educate workers on safe work site practices to help prevent injuries.
This course provides participants with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to safely and effectively erect, dismantle, and maintain supported scaffolding systems in accordance with OSHA and New York City Department of Buildings (DOB) regulations.
Some topics covered in this scaffolding class include the importance of proper pre-planning, the major components of scaffolds, training of workers, and how to properly read scaffold design drawings. This course includes hands-on supported scaffold training which will give students an opportunity to practice building and dismantling scaffolds, standard rigging techniques and apply various knots on the rope.
Upon completion of this course, you will receive a 32-hour supported scaffolding certificate on your worker wallet card if you do not already have it.
