This is a prescribed course approved by the New York City Department of Buildings that can help fulfill the requirement for an individual applying for a Site Safety Training (SST) card. This is awareness level training only and does not provide any other qualification or authorization outside of the Site Safety Training Card.

This course is designed to meet specific guidelines set by the NYC DOB to ensure that construction workers and supervisors are proficient in conducting and participating in 

toolbox talks effectively.

The 2-hour course was designed to familiarize participants with Safety Briefings as a quick  and easy way for qualified personnel to reinforce and complement employer-mandated training and maintain compliance with safety and health regulations as a priority for workers, as established by New York City Local Law 196 of 2017.

This training seeks to raise awareness among participants about the need to effectively deliver Safety Briefings, which can foster camaraderie, communication, and overall culture, and to demonstrate the importance of obtaining worker feedback when delivering safety  briefings.

This training provides workers with the skills necessary to effectively communicate safety information, improve hazard awareness, and contribute to overall safety practices on New York City construction sites.

Upon completion of this course, you will receive an 2-hour Tool Box Talks certificate on your SST card.
