1-Hour Tools Hand and Power

 This course is a General Elective approved by the New York City Department of Buildings that can help fulfill the requirement for an individual applying for a Site Safety Training (SST) card. This is awareness level training only and does not provide any other qualification or authorization outside of the Site Safety Training Card.

Hand and power tools are part of everyday work in construction and general industry. They help us perform tasks that would otherwise be difficult or impossible, however, even the simplest tools can be dangerous and cause serious injuries if used or maintained improperly.

Common hazards associated with hand and power tools include flying debris, impact injuries, chemical exposure, excessive noise, cuts, and vibrations. Special attention must be paid to hand and power tool safety to reduce or eliminate these hazards.

Powered Hand Tools Training Overview:

• Hazard Recognition & Injury Prevention
• Electrical Cords/Abrasive Wheels.
• Pneumatic Tools/Liquid Fuel Tools
• Power-Actuated Tools

Upon completion of this course, you will receive a 1-hour Tools Hand and Power certificate on your SST card.
